25 students. The class has 8 girls and the rest are boys making a lively group.
Many of the parents work in the iron ore mines and the students have been studying the rocks and soils of the area.
The rocks are mainly sedimentary and the iron ore deposits are amongst the richest in the world.
We have started working with crystals, mixing sulphates and nitrates with water and letting the crystals form.
Round Hill, which is near the airport is rich in natural quartz crystals. The rivers around Newman have areas of tiger stone.
It is an area rich in minerals and rocks in some marvellous colors.
