The shuttle bus from Brisbane Airport takes you directly to Capricornia One on the Gold Coast
for $40.00. This is a 23 storey high rise one block from the beach and all rooms have sea and canal views. My room was
on the 18th floor and every room, including the bathroom, overlooked the surf and the sea below. I saw night lights of the
Gold Coast, the canal to the left, the sea ahead and below the buildings and the views. I saw moonlight on the water, whales
playing straight ahead and a full rainbow on the water. The location was stunning. I was able to read on my balcony in privacy
and watch TV and the sea at the same time. The apartment was furnished elegantly and for $85.00 a night..special through
Rates to go..was great value. Two full sized bedrooms one overlooking the canal and night lights, and the main one overlooking
the surf. I left the full length french windows open all day and night, and it was like living outdoors in total luxury. The
beach was just down below...and the sands were white and soft and surf fishermen were always fishing and catching fish too. Surfers
shops was $7.00 in a taxi or 20 minutes walk. I would walk along the beach, then wander the shops and catch a taxi back loaded
with supplies and beautiful shopping. Night life is there for all ages...and in the evenings the streets are full of people
and things are happening. "Howl at the Moon' which I went to in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is also here with duelling jazz
pianos, and there is every kind of restauarnt you could wish for. Surfers caters for both the very wealthy and the backpacker...and
is stunningly overfull of anything you wish to have or do. I had my hair done to a wild splendour, and bought designer
clothes at fantastic prices. The hotel will help you with tours. I went to Stradbroke Island on a cruiser, then Stardbroke
again on a Tall Ship. I did 3 bus tours which were very reasonable and full day tours...to Brisbane and The Botannical
Gardens, To Byron Bay and To the Hinterland where we visted the Fabulous mountains, saw an underground cave and hand fed colorful
birds. I also went para sailing...high up in the sky with the eagles circling around and then clouds and pouring rain.
Yes it rained on my parasail. Other places of interest are Sea world, Movie World, The Brisbane Zoo and for you gamblers...Jupiters
Casino. Wonderful location for a total vacation...I just love the Gold Coast and Capricornia One was a great location right
on the beach. See my photos on webshots: http://Community.webshots.com/user/ladymaggic |
